A Naming Ceremony is a delightful event that celebrates the introduction of a new child or individual into their family and the broader community.
Naming ceremonies are not just for newborns and toddlers; I specialise in creating custom ceremonies for individuals of any age who wish to celebrate a new name or identity. These ceremonies can be for adopted children, blended families acknowledging stepchildren, or individuals celebrating their gender transition and true identity.

A naming ceremony can be held at any venue of your choosing at any time of the day.
Some families choose to hold a ceremony in their garden, on the beach or in their favourite hotel - the choice of where to hold the naming ceremony is yours!
How we will work together
Following an initial telephone consultation and a subsequent face-to-face or Zoom meeting, I will send you a questionnaire to fill out. This step will assist me in learning everything about you, the individual being honored in the naming celebration, and your preferences for how the ceremony should be conducted and experienced by guests in attendance.
As soon as we start working together, you can count on my dedicated support. I will collaborate with you on the script and make sure it has your approval before the significant day. Together, we will craft a joyful and distinctive naming ceremony for your cherished one, creating a treasured memory that will last a lifetime.
I will assist you in considering any additional special touches or symbolic rituals for the ceremony to ensure it is as unique and personalised as you desire. I possess a rich collection of readings and music, and I am passionate about researching these to tailor to individual ceremonies. Many naming ceremonies incorporate symbolic acts such as blending sand, planting a tree, and blowing and releasing bubbles.
If you wish, you can nominate friends and family to act as the child's 'Guideparents,' or whichever name you're comfortable with (for example, ‘Goodparents’). The parents and Guideparents are invited to make personal promises or vows to the child during the ceremony, if this is something you would like to include.
Additionally, you will be presented with a special copy of the script on the day as a keepsake to cherish.
Pricing:
Naming Ceremony: £300
Naming Ceremony and Coaching Package: (3 sessions plus me as your Celebrant at bespoke Naming Ceremony) £390 (follow up sessions charged at £30 per session).
I happily travel all over the North West of England (Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, The Wirral). Travelling is one of my great loves so I will be more than happy to officiate a ceremony anywhere in England, Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland - further than 40 miles will be charged at an extra 55p per mile.
