Embracing all your traits, the good, the bad and the ugly
Today’s blog post is inspired by my purchase of a new @ninja air fryer as a result of my clumsiness. While testing to see if a lovely loaf tin would fit in the original air fryer in order to reheat fish pie rather than using the oven or microwave I got said loaf tin stuck as I forced the air fryer drawer closed. Thankfully I hadn’t portioned any fish pie into it. But we have missed this air fryer so much as it has become our main cooking tool over the last couple of years. So an investment in this sexy #ninja was made and so far so good.
I’ve always been clumsy, referred to as a #bullinachinashop by my mother from a young age. My arms and legs are like a 5 year old child’s - never without a smattering of little bruises. I have a litany of stories related to my clumsiness which do incite the odd giggle.
Being clumsy is something that’s been a source of entertainment for my self (self deprecating) and others, but it is something I’ve come to accept while also trying to take some responsibility so that I can learn from moments rather than merely accepting them as if I can’t do anything about them. I do link my clumsiness to many things but identify when I’m distracted, stressed, tired or in a hurry then it makes matters worse.
What traits do you have that are costly to you and others?
What traits have you had to tenderly accept?
What have you learned about yourself that you accept but also pull up your responsibility socks for?
What have you had to drop shame over?
