Incorporating Hobbies and Interests in your Wedding Day
Since being with Toby, I have taken up birdwatching. While I always enjoyed the beauty of the flight, tweets, colour and behaviour of birds, I’d have struggled to name more than 10 and now I am learning more about their characteristics such as their calls, what they eat, their migration cycles etc. we’re obsessed with playing Wingspan and my favourite Calm sleep story is currently The Birds of Uruguay.
When birding, aswell as seeing and hearing the beautiful birds it’s wonderful to get away from it all to just be and enjoy my surroundings, walk through different terrains, be immersed in the changing seasons, chat to other keen birders, see the gorgeous products in RSPB and WWT centres and drink good tea and eat great cakes!
Our wedding table names were named after birdies and flowers (I’m obsessed with flowers) - our top table was Bluebell and Bittern, we also had Clover and Curlew, Irish and Kingfisher, Hydrangea and Hawfinch, Snowdrop and Stonechat, Orchid and Osprey, Peony and Puffin, Daffodil and Dunnock, Wysteria and Waxwing, Tulip and Teal, Rose and Robin. I made little info sheets for each table about the birds and flowers for people to read at the reception - I was so chuffed with them and our guests loved them.
What new hobbies have you taken up since being with your partner?
How could you incorporate them in your big day?
