The Joy Celebrant Sunday Soul Shares, August 2023
13/8/23 Sunday Soul Share … each Sunday I’ll try to dig deep to give you a bit of a flavour of who I am as Una, the lass who wanted to be The Joy Celebrant.
❤️I decided to become a celebrant when I was planning my wedding with my wonderful husband Toby – we spoke to multiple celebrants in the North of Ireland (where I’m from) when we realised that it was a no go to get married in the Church that I always hoped to get married in. @chloecairns.thecelebrant was our superstar celebrant on the big day – she got to know us for us and we relied on her wholeheartedly to lead our ceremony - the feedback from all our guests was that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to because it was full of personal touches, and they got to know our story.

😊 I love to get to know people and hear about what matters to them, to tell their story in the most important celebrations of their life, whether it is for a couple’s Wedding, a person’s Naming Ceremony or an End of Life Celebration.
I make services personable, joyful and celebratory. I love creating laughter and memories with others – what story do you want me to tell your guests that brings out the warm and fuzzies? DM me or email me at TheJoy@unahaslinger.com
27/8/23 Sunday Soul Share @thejoycelebrant!
Our wedding day saw all 4 seasons – it was blissfully sunny in the morning for the getting ready and the guests arriving - the sun definitely shone on my big entrance too! Thunder and lightning struck during our vows, followed by torrential rainfall all afternoon (only taking a break for the sun to shine again during dinner)
We chose the most stunning garden venue, Ballyscullion Park, to enjoy this space, but our guests were largely confined to the indoors and our musicians from Davey Music were rained into the Strawberry Garden where we had our ceremony! Thankfully our musicians, Patrick, marcella_kellyy and @claregalwaymusic and the staff at @ballyscullion_park were superstars at bringing our guests back to the Strawberry Garden, sheltered under huge umbrellas, with their flutes of fizz and Guinness to enjoy all the Irish Trad tunes.
We’ve been told many times that it’s good luck for it to rain on a wedding day – “no rain, no flowers!” And I made sure I made a purchase of @oliverbonas framed embroidered 'No Rain No Flowers' wall art for our new kitchen wall, as a reminder of these words that are such an inspiration to me.
We laugh when thinking of my mummy putting the umbrella up inside the house to protect @tobyhaslinger's parents when walking to the car in the rain and that the Child of Prague, kindly purchased by my sister in law, didn't make it out of the box which we only realised the day after the wedding, when the sun beamed in all its glory!
Nothing could steal our joy on our big day though!
